DAVIE, Fla. – An accident on Interstate 595 caused a major traffic issue on Sunday morning in Broward County.
According to authorities, it was due to a large fire from some kind of tanker truck.
Video obtained by Local 10 News shows a bus was also involved in the crash.
According to authorities, the tanker truck sideswiped a disabled and unoccupied Broward County Transit bus that was parked on the left shoulder before striking the median wall and erupting in flames.
Davie police said drivers should avoid both I-595 and State Road 84 westbound between Pine Island Road and Southwest 136th Avenue.
Rescue officials said one person was rushed to Broward Health Medical Center as a trauma alert.
Billowing black smoke could be seen by drivers in the area before the fire was extinguished.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
