According to the Hollywood Police Department, the crash that killed Freeman on Mother’s Day remained under investigation Wednesday.

“He had just taken his girlfriend out for Mother’s Day. Dropped her off and was heading home,” said Sharon Grant, Freeman’s sister.

Grant said Freeman died right before he was going to turn into his house in Hollywood.

A witness’s video shows the speeding driver of a white car weaving in and out of traffic before turning on its side after the crash at Sheridan Street and North 40 Avenue.

Freeman’s car burst into flames. Fire rescue personnel took the driver of the white car to the hospital. Police officers have not released the driver’s identity.

The cause of the crash remained under investigation on Wednesday. Grant said the last time she saw her brother was during a family gathering.

“I must have hugged him for like 10 minutes, and they were like, ‘What are you doing?’ And, I was like, ‘I don’t know when I am going to see my brother again,’ and then when the accident came that was actually the last time,” Grant said.

Freeman’s sister Ramona Harper described him as a man with a good sense of humor who enjoyed making others laugh.

“He made your day, anybody that he came into contact with,” Harper said. “He was loved by so many.”
